Tending The Wounds of Racial Trauma – Lake District Weekend Retreat

4th – 6th November 2022

Book your tickets here

Calling Black Bodies, Hearts, and Minds to a weekend of guided re-remembering, recovery, and resilience building.
We’re delighted to be partnering with Rowan Carr and Brathay Trust to offer you this incredible two day experience dedicated to soothing the wounds of racial trauma, known and unknown, that are acting against your wellbeing, physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually.
Your guide Rowan Carr will offer authentic practices from his long-term cross-cultural spiritual practice and study, rooted in his Black/African heritage and embodiment.
You will be empowered to recognise the impacts of racism on your body and nervous system. From there, you will learn somatic (body led) recovery, enabling you to heal and build resilience. Together we will learn tools for ourselves and future generations.
It’s so important for racial trauma to be acknowledged and addressed, and this retreat is the perfect opportunity for those beginning their healing journey.
Taking place in the beautiful setting of Brathay Hall, Ambleside, on the northern shore of Lake Windermere, Rowan will create a truly unique and safe space where you can express yourself without judgment or fear.
The £335 price for your ticket covers includes both your accommodation and your food for the whole weekend.
