On Friday 3rd Feb we held our first full Trustee & Team Away Day at the very beautiful Birkdale House. It was an opportunity for us all to connect, reflect and take a strategic look ahead.

Team & Trustees L-R
Sophia, Niall, Zainab, Nick, Laura, Janett, Ken, Mina, Jordan, Carla, Sonny, Erika, Kelle.
Our board is made up of people from different ages, ethnicities, genders and sexualities, socio-economic, educational and cultural backgrounds and this beautiful blend brings so much insight, experience and expertise. The day was time well spent, we’ve come a long way since we started on a zoom in June 2020 and as the organisation and impact matures so too does our methodology. As we work towards an anti-racist county it’s vital that we continue to check in with ourselves along the way to ensure we don’t end up unwittingly upholding racism and other forms of oppression in our own ways of working. We’re glad to hold ourselves to the same standards that we hold others to.
A big thank you to Birkdale House for their generosity, it made a huge difference having such a beautiful local venue to work in for the day. The facilities were excellent as was the service and attention to detail and we’d highly recommend them to anyone looking for an inspiring space in the Lakes. Deep thanks to our Board for their time and valued thoughts and thanks also to everyone who has supported us so far, we promise to continue supporting our county to become anti-racist through action and education.
